The concept has grown again. We have the gate to enter the park with a liquified gargoyle looking over the
visitors. Since I was busy with mutating animals, suddenly I came to remember that it’s the year of Darwin.
Hence, the park is filled up with displaced animals featured in a weird mutated fashion. Where evolution went of the [...]
Alright, here are some more detailed sketches of the bugs in Eden’s garden. The stripey, yellow and green, one is for the structure of the plants. Wim can use this one for modelling the plants. I’ll make a better scan once I’m home.
Ok, a new bend in the road. We’ve come upon the Garden of Eden on the way to the Kröller Müller.
New script:
1. Iglo-pod is pulsating with light, first soft and then still stronger, ’till bright,
2. When the light is bright, a small crack will appear, and a small hole will open, bit by bit,
3. Out [...]
…. as promised, here are the first production sketches for the enchanted forest.
The plan is as it follows:
At the entrance of the path there is a floating gargoyle head with frozen water coming out of his mouth.

Next there is the path with arms floating in mid air reaching towards the visitors.

As you enter the clearing [...]
What about things you do NOT want to see in such a lovely place, e.g.
1. A place covered with filth, e.g. graffiti on the stone columns in front of the trees, chewing gum, dog shit, used condoms, trees with names carved in it, etc.
2. A place covered with asphalt / a car parking, and further [...]
A sketch from my session at the lab on Wednesday with Wim. We were brainstorming and we came up with the following:
The iglo is actually half of an egg you can see, the rest is buried under ground. Inside is a precious/dangerous creature waiting to get out. The egg starts with pulsating lights, becoming brighter [...]
Here is an update on my research for the krollermoller project ive been doing this week.
this is a picture of the needle-statue i’ve made last friday at the park. I like how the accumilation of simple shapes creates a complicated, sophisticated visual experience. I would like to use this sophistication in our AR-enviroment.
So I started [...]
Here are some sketches I made on the field trip.
Associations for the Iglo sofar:
- Is it holding something in? Or is it holding us out?
- What’s inside? Something precious, something dangerous?
- maybe there is more to the iglo than we can see, the other half of the sphere could be underground.
- It could be fragmented [...]
See the audio-visual report from our field research at the Kröller-Müller Museum on Friday, June 19.

hello,
while in Musée d’Orsay, I saw this great little book. Ordered Chaos in nature. Dream like creatures, hashed up by just flipping the book. These great animals could be our KM Pet. Defying nature, defying human logic.
How was the workshop on Friday? More pictures if you click on this post.
Could not find good garden gnomes, with blue trowels in their hands, dressed only in bikini or swim suit. Could be regular people as well. Putting them in different sizes around this sculpture, it seems the sculpture itself is redimensioned somehow i.e. it does not look so big anymore. But maybe it does not work that [...]
The idea is simple, but I have no clue how much effort it takes to model this Jardin d’email (where/how do you get the shape dimensions?)…
You can imagine the colors change during time (interactively?).
